Day 27: Favourite George Moment

3x12: ‘He Didn’t Know Any Better!’

Man I miss George O’Malley. I loved him from the moment he’s awkwardly trying to talk to Meredith but just ends up going into great deal about her outfit at the mixer.

George was the reason for some hilarious MAGIC scenes such as the SyphBoy ones, hot dog contest, tampons! etc. 

I loved George/Izzie to bits, platonically more than anything else but I found them together and Izzie’s dilemma at the end of season 3 really sweet, I just wish he’d never married Callie so that Izzie didn’t have to ruin his marriage. Their friendship in seasons 1&2 is hilarious and them drunk before the sex is adorable, love all their scenes in the episode where Izzie’s daughter is in the hospital, the closet scene after he realises what happened the night before and the elevator kiss in 3x23 is amazing (I also love the TR/Katie out takes from that scene). Love that TR and Katie are actual BFFs and that really comes across on screen with those two.

Season 4 and 5 George pulled off some hilarious facial expressions and I love him as the Chief’s intern. He was a bit of an ass to Lexie when he was so wrapped up in wanting to be a resident like his friends that he completely missed the fact that she was in love with him but I couldn’t really be mad at George.

His final scenes were amazing and I love seeing the impact of his death on just everyone around him in the season 6 opener, it’s in that episode that you see how many people loved George O’Malley.

I chose this scene because it gives me chills every time, TR is just brilliant in this moment and the way George just suddenly flips out gets to me every time. Just such a great scene and I love the one soon afterwards with George and Cristina where she tells him about the ‘dead dad club’ and his line about not knowing how to live in a world where his dad doesn’t just breaks my heart.

George O’Malley RIP.
